Do you have any experience with guns? What guns do you like? What gun would you like to own if you could? Caliber preferences? So forth and so on. You can also post pictures of your guns if you'd like. I might get around to that myself.

Well, I suppose that I can go first.
I love guns. Mostly any make or model. My favorite rifle that I have shot is a PTR-91 with a standard A2 stock, foregrip, bipod, 18" bull barrel, and a 3.5-12x Leupold scope on extra high rings with a cheek rest on the stock. Twenty round box magazine, chambered in .308/7.52x51 NATO, this beat should be accurate up to at least 600 meters, possibly more. It is about 13 pounds unloaded. Loaded, it's probably closer to 13.5 pounds. For those of you unfamiliar with the PTR-91, look no further than the G3A3 from BF3, the only differences are that mine if black instead of OD green, and mine is incapable of fully automatic fire because those are hugely expensive.
Pistol. I currently own three handguns. The first that I bought is a S&W M&P 9mm full size. It has a 4.25" barrel, a sweet custom trigger at somewhere between a 3 and 4 pound pull, with the longest pull on it being just beyond the reset of the trigger mechanism. It hold 17 rounds in the double stacked magazine, plus one in the chamber. It weights 24.5 ounces unloaded, and is about seven inches long from the back of the grip to the muzzle. My pistol has a Crimson Trace Grip on it, so when you put your hand on the grip, the res laser shines on your target. This is for those "Oh, shit!" moments where you might need to get that first shot off as you're drawing your weapon and don't have time to bring up the sights.
The second pistol is a S&W M&P 9c (for compact) which is about an inch shorter than the one above, with all the same features minus the custom trigger. It can use the standard size mags, but the compact mags hold 12 plus 1 in the chamber. It has a three inch barrel I believe.
The third is a monster of a gun that makes all but the harriest chested of men quake in fear. The .460 S&W (if you're noticing a trend of S&W weapons in my home, you'd be correct) The .460 S&W is an Extra Large Frame revolver, chambered in the amazingly fast .460 S&W Magnum round which has been clocked at an average of 2,300 FPS muzzle velocity out of an 8 3/8" barrel, which this particular model has. The .460 S&W is capable of shooting the .45 Long Colt, the .454 Cassull, and the .460 S&W. This model has a rail mounted to it, and a heavy duty pistol scope that's 3-7x. I have yet to get it properly sighted in yet, but soon, this beast will be capable of downing any animal in North America, and some medium pickup trucks at 200 yards.
Shotgun. I don't like shotguns. I don't deny their usefulness, I just don't enjoy shooting them. That being said, they're excellent home defense and hunting weapons. I own a Mossberg Model 88 with a 20" barrel chambered in 12 gauge and extended tube so that it can hold 8 plus 1. I have mounted onto it a green laser and flashlight.
I will continue this sometime later. Until then, be sure to tell us about your gun likes.

I'm building a reloading bench similar to that. It's been in the works for a while, all the wood is cut, but there's no room to put the damn thing together or to put it when it's done. Sigh.

The .17 is actually a legitimate round. I've seen plenty of varminter/small game rifles in that caliber, and they do make hunting pellets for pellet guns.

Also, for reference, I do believe that what the MP7 shoots is actually close to a .17.

The only living thing I've shot and killed was about a 5-6 foot Diamondback on Easter this year. It was on the road and was going for my cousin's husband, and BAM! Right in the head. With my S&W M&P 9.

I've heard that the M60s have a tendency to jam. Is that true, or is it a older vs newer model thing?

Well the m60 was phased out by the time I was in, though from what I understand it was mainly from feeding the rounds in the weapon. I've heard that if you didn't hold the belt up as you were firing it wold jam, so they welded an empty can to the weapon to fix this. Well, in the field anyway. An armorer would have a cow over that.

I own a Remington .22 bolt action. But, I've shot just about anything a civilian can get his hands on. Anywhere from a .22, to a .444 (<- elephant round. Some of the guns I've shot include any of the possible AR platforms, a PS90, an FS2000 (much like the F2000, just semiauto) every caliber pistol (including a muzzle-loaded .50 calibur)and I've been graced to shoot my uncle's Barret.

I thought that if you didnt have someone holding the belt for the M60, that sometimes it would continue firing, even after releasing the trigger..because the firing mechanism would get effed up if the gun overheated?

I've never heard of that, but then, I've never dealt with an M60 before. Thinking about picking up an M1 SOCOM though. Nice gun, and I don't have an M1A. Like the gun, sturdy and reliable, but not so much a fan of how the buttplate of the stock fits me. Might have to customize a bit, but that's what makes it fun.

Never had to worry about jamming but we replaced the barrel every 500 rounds, but that was training. Never had to use in a real world situation. Also we had to wear asbestos gloves when changing out barrel.

Well, yeah. Barrels get hot after a hundred rounds on semi-auto. I can't imagine the heat on a full out after 500.

I think I remember hearing about that in a Vietnam documentary. A vet was talking about how he had to hold the belt in case the thing kept firing when ordered to cease fire (due to overheating i believe)...apparently some friendlies had been shot like that.

It is a beast and can be very dangersous. I have heard of barrels exploding because it was so hot it was cooking off rounds.
The feel of the power you have when shooting it is awesome. Plus taking it apart can be very dangeous too.
